Inspired by nature, a forest garden draws on woodland as a model but is tailored to fit the particular circumstances of a site and its users. Comprised of several layers – often including fruit and nut trees, fruit bushes, perennial vegetables and other useful plants – it is designed to be low maintenance and highly productive for many years to come. This session will cover:
• Concepts and principles of forest gardening
• Benefits of forest gardens
• Forest garden design and grouping of plants
