Disposable Vapes, what a nightmare. These nicotine dispensers contain rechargeable lithium batteries that just get thrown away. Blake from Green Dragon Productions will be showing us how to repurpose the batteries and cases to make useful (or at least pretty) things. Along the way, we will learn about the lithium batteries that power all our modern devices. This workshop will be on Friday 5th July 2024 at our Summer Gathering 2024.

Please do not collect or bring damaged disposable vapes as they can pose a fire risk. They contain rechargeable lithium batteries that can catch fire if pierced or shorted out.

The batteries inside these disposable products are li-ion jellyroll 13350 500mAh 3.7V nominal (4.2V charged) cells. We will charge and discharge via TP4056 with DW02 protection. Here are specs for this generic type of battery used in disposable devices:
